Bournemouth Netball Festival
Bournemouth is already one of our most popular netball tour destinations in the UK, but on the Whitsun bank holiday weekend it also plays host to one of the world's biggest and most enjoyable rugby sevens and netball competitions. The Bournemouth Sevens International Rugby, Netball & Music Festival is back with a bang in 2009; after the huge success of the 2008 festival the event has been moved to the May Bank Holiday from the 22 nd -24 th May 2009 to allow people to party for one more day. With a staggering 184 teams competing to be crowned Bournemouth Sevens champions and 20,000 people enjoying the festival, it has become the largest event in Europe rivalling the likes of Dubai and Hong Kong Sevens. The tournament also features the National Netball Festival offering netball at all standards, from top level down to completely social, much like your rugby counterparts. The beauty of the tournament is that for both sports you get an organised competition pitched at your level but between and after the games you're in the midst of a huge party which will carry on late into the night in the town.
