Prague Easter Cup Football Tournament 2008

Welcome to the Prague Easter Cup 2008, which is now in it’s 16th year. This is your chance to play in one of the best football tournaments with teams coming from all over Europe and the rest of the world to play football in the capital of the Czech Republic. At the same time you will enjoy a spring break in Prague with its unique historic centre, well-preserved monuments, incredible nightlife and the best beer in the world. The Czech Republic in general has a strong and deeply rooted football tradition and Prague is the home of the famous football clubs Sparta and Slavia, both well known in European football.

Some figures from the Easter Cup 2007:
Number of participating teams: 32 from 6 countries
Number of matches played in 3 days: 64
Number of fields: 5

Prague has plenty to entertain teams of all ages, once you get there you won't be able to let the city pass you by for the whole weekend, there is so much to do.

You will of course have your fixtures to play, which should keep you out of a bar for a few of hours at least, but then it's back into the city centre to enjoy the incredible prices (yes a beer really is 50p in some bars!) and legendary Czech hospitality. The city centre is split by a river and linked by King Charles bridge. The castle on the hill to the west of the city is worth a visit and then you can wander down through Mala Strana and across King Charles bridge, after a short walk you reach the main town square with bars and restaurants in abundance and plenty of gift shops and market stalls.
