Rotterdam, like Amsterdam is a bustling port city and the second city of Holland. Closer to the UK than Amsterdam and on one of the main UK-European ferry routes (Hull-Rotterdam) it's ideally placed to offer something different on your sports tour if you've already 'done' Amsterdam or just want a great city touring experience. There is so much to see and do for football, rugby, hockey and cricket teams. As a port town, Rotterdam of course has it's very own 'red light district' which apart from anything else provides amusement just walking up and down the streets at the weird and wonderful windows as you move throguh the city centre on a night out.

However there is much more to this liberal city than that, museums and monuments abound in this city and culture vultures will have plenty to keep themselves amused. There are also plenty of activities to keep your group entertained from the standard karting and paintball to more traditional Dutch museums, evenings and meals. Rotterdam has hundreds or pubs, bars and restaurants as well as a huge student scene so there are plenty of nightclusb open round the clock.

Coach Travel: Coach travel to Rotterdam takes around 3/4 hours from Calais after the ferry. If you're travelling from Northern UK then travel overnight, during the day or stop off en route to break the journey up.

Best time of year to go

Rotterdam is a great destination throughout the year for rugby, hockey and football teams. Cricket is played from early May until late September.
