With some great shopping complexes and many big name shops on Vaci street and throughout the centre, Budapest cements its place as one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Europe.

It has a large number of varied bars, pubs and clubs from Absinth bar on Andrassy street to Club Rio and the other clubs around the city centre. In the citadel overlooking the Danube you can have a drink overlooking Budapest in a converted London Bus. There are plenty of late night venues heaving with locals and tourists for you to party right through till breakfast if you fancy. A beer can cost as little as 70p in the local bars and if you want to drink like the locals head to the nearest bar and ask for a 'Unicum'

Budapest is a year-round destination. Rugby and Football is played on grass or astroturf (usually 3G). The open air clubs open in May and close in September.
