This one-day XV-a-side tournament is ideal for those teams who are looking for a social rugby tournament in a lively destination. Celebrating its 9th year in 2015, the tournament has, in the past, seen teams from the UK, Ireland, France, Luxembourg, Germany and Holland all battle for the title, before enjoying the social ambience that Cologne Crusaders Rugby Club are famous for. In 2015, the tournament will be held on 2nd May. This tournament epitomises rugby in Germany; lots of grilled sausages, cold beverages and a closing party with live music, a great social event. Played on the Saturday, the tournament gets underway about 11am and finishes around 5pm. There is also a welcome event at a Beerhouse in central Cologne on the Friday. The Altstadt is also the best place to sample Kölsch, the refreshing local brew, in beer halls rivalling those of Bavaria. The city also has the highest concentration of pubs and clubs per capita in Germany, and so offers a vibrant club scene.
